Vaccinations
Joshua has a genetic
mutation in the MTHFR gene
(5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (NADPH))
that affects his immune system and makes him
hyper sensitive to vaccinations. We have
verified through genetic testing that his
ability to produce glutathione is significantly
impaired. There are two major reasons why
vaccinations affect children like Joshua in a
different way than a child that has a properly
functioning immune system:
1) The vaccination produces
an immune response. If the immune system is
unable to properly respond, the virus introduced
into the body will attack the body and in some
cases cause permanent damage.
2) Some vaccinations contain
thimerosal (containing ethylmercury) as a
preservative. Normally, glutathione binds
to the mercury and carries it from the body and
safely disposes of it. In a child with low
levels of intercellular glutathione, the
ethylmercury enters the bloodstream where it is
able to cross the blood-brain barrier.
The combination of the
mercury crossing into the brain and the immune
system response is sufficient to cause symptoms
that identify closely with autism. In Joshua's
case, he was a normally developing child until
receiving his last DTP vaccination at about 18
months. Within a very short time, his
development not only stopped, but began to
regress until he was finally diagnosed with
autism spectrum disorder.
It was only after over 2
years of moving from doctor to doctor and
failing to find any answers that we were able to
find the source and the cure. By providing
Joshua with a daily dosage of glutathione and
folate, trimethylglycine, and B12 in the correct
dosage (see
Glutathione), we saw a dramatic reversal of
his autistic symptoms and a near total recovery.
He still suffers from a weak
immune system and intestinal problems such as
yeast and bacterial overgrowth, but these
symptoms can be managed through diet and
supplementation.
Anyone who has raised an
autistic child understands our extreme
reluctance to administering vaccinations to our
children, given the life changing effects they
have had on our child. We are well aware of both
sides of the controversy surrounding
vaccinations, but our strong conviction will not
allow us to inject them into our children.
This conviction led us to
apply for a vaccination waiver from the Florida
Department of Health (see the graphic below for
an example).

Until vaccinations can be
definitively proved as safe for children with
the genetic profile that our child has, and
which is shared by thousands of other children,
we cannot with good conscience allow a doctor to
vaccinate him.
The
Letter
It is interesting to note
that we received the letter below from one doctor
when we told her our children were not being
vaccinated. Note that she copied her attorney on
the letter. We include it here to let her know
that our "non-compliant" behavior was approved
by the Florida Department of Health through a
vaccination exemption. We won't be going back to
this doctor!
